A 17th-century moated château set in 42 hectares on the edge of the Fontainebleau forest, Bourron is still lived in and run by the Cordon family, who host every wedding personally. Its English-language brochure and direct family contact have made it a familiar pick for British and American couples wanting an intimate château weekend rather than a hotel feel.
Exclusive hire from around €15,000 includes the four interconnecting salons (seating up to 140 for dinner), the sound and lighting kit for dancing, and 15 bedrooms sleeping up to 37 between the château and the d'Artagnan cottage. Couples bring in their own caterer and planner from the recommended list, and the family or estate caretaker remains on hand throughout the weekend.
